The ibex trail

This educational trail provides an opportunity to discover the history, fauna and flora of the Dix Valley, upstream of the Grande Dixence dam.

The route follows the Col des Roux pass road to an altitude of 2800 m.

The trail can be walked in both directions:

• Either head out along Lake Dix (recommended direction, duration to the Cabane de Prafleuri: 2 h 30 min),
• The second option is to follow the Combe de Prafleuri valley (duration to the Cabane de Prafleuri: 1 h 30 min).

Recommendation:
Wear good shoes, take a raincoat, comfortable clothes, water and sun protections (sun cream, glasses, hat…).
The trail is rocky and narrow, it is for hikers with medium physical condition and to children from 8 years old.
